中考英語單詞易錯(cuò)點(diǎn)解析：Accept and Except

　　Accept

　　to hold something as true 認(rèn)為/相信某事是真實(shí)的

　　1. I don’t accept his version of events.

　　我不相信他對事件的說法。

　　2. I accept she may have been tired, but that’s still no excuse.

　　我相信她也許是累了，但是那并不能成為理由。

　　to receive something willingly 樂意接受某事/某物

　　1. I accept this award on behalf of the whole cast.

　　我很榮幸代表全體演員接受這個(gè)獎(jiǎng)項(xiàng)。

　　2. Please accept my resignation.

　　請您接受我的辭呈。

　　Except

　　as a preposition it means “apart from” ”except”作為介詞，是”除…之外”

　　1. I can resist everything except temptation.

　　除了誘惑，我可以抵擋一切。

　　2. We work everyday except Sunday.

　　除了星期天，我們每天都在工作。

　　as a conjunction it means “if not the fact that” ”except”作為連詞，意思是”若不是”

　　1. I would go swimming, except I am scared of big fish.

　　若不是我害怕大魚的話，我會去游泳的。

　　2. I would buy the skirt, except that it cost too much.

　　若不是價(jià)格太貴的話，我就會買下那條裙子。

　　【注意】

　　accept 和except發(fā)音相似，拼寫相似，在實(shí)際運(yùn)用過程中，很容易混淆。應(yīng)注意accept是動詞，except可以作介詞、連詞以及動詞，其中作為介詞出現(xiàn)的情況較為常見。
