Good morning, everyone. Today I’ll give you a general introduction about three types of university courses. The most common type is a lecture course. For every lecture course you are taking, you’ll also have a second kind of class, a discussion section. This class is smaller, maybe 20 or 30 students, and it meets two or three hours a week. However, discussion sections are taught by teaching assistants instead of professors.

The third kind of class is called a lab class. If your major is chemistry or physics or any other kind of science, you’ll have to spend several hours a week in the lab to do your experiments.
